More swell from TS Beta. I drove and waited over an hour for the wind to come up. Almost left. Then it started to feel like enough. I thought awhile - worth carrying everything down the road for marginal conditions? (Beach parking was closed but I got a pretty close spot.) Ultimately decided yes. I rigged big. Suddenly the wind hit hard. After a few runs on the 5.2 I got frustrated being too overpowered to wave ride like I wanted. I rerigged to 3.8. Perfect! Fun waves head high or more with long rides. Strong current but luckily I just fell once and got up quickly. Rerigging on the beach with no shelter was nuts. Also crazy how the beach completely cleared out once the wind hit. From tourist Mecca yesterday to desolate off-season mode tonight.
