Season opener! It was like Christmas and my birthday. Literally, because I took a portion of my birthday work leave to sail in the afternoon, and the New Mexicans came bearing a lot of gifts. Conditions were not Christmas, but still rewarding. The wind always had some west in it flattening things. Waves were trying to start. I waited around. They went from nonexistent to waist high. Progress! Shrinking everything is a learning experience because you can go for it without much penalty, so I milked those little waves for everything they were worth.
