I got up a little on the foil but was uncomfortable with the setup at Bird and my gear, so I cut things very short...probably just 25-30 minutes on the water. It was shallow over the ledge, too deep to touch bottom past the ledge, and wind blowing away down the laguna. Plus sailor traffic on the water. I don't have a board leash and it all just felt like an invitation for me or my gear to blow away.

I got some more tacks and got up on the foil a few times, very low and short durations. And met Tereseña, the first wing sailor I've gotten to talk with. She clarified for me where to hold the wing. She also lost her gear and a boat brought it back, which conformed my fears of not great conditions for this right now. It's funny that Oleander is turning out to have better beginner conditions than Bird, at least as long as this ultra high tide lasts.
