I took a foil lesson with Andy, and it was really amazing to work with him. It was blowing about 11-15 at the time I went, but that plus his coaching was enough to get riding. I did get pretty tired with all the pumping and his harness lines being too long for me to settle my weight into. By the last run I dared to try a jibe. I foiled through the first half and non-foiled through the second half. He gave advice for next time to keep my arms out farther away from me - recording that here for when/if there's a next time. I no longer have foiling gear other than my wing. Still not sure if I want to buy any. A good used deal would make it an easier choice but I imagine that would be hard to come by, and I haven't looked. I just love the opportunity to learn wind sports and don't pass that up when offered. Same reason I've taken about five kite lessons over the years but have never pulled the trigger on buying gear. Being satisfied but learning more is a good problem to have.
