Started with light wind @15mph. I was happy since I wanted to try my new shorter Starboard aluminum foil mast at Bird. The foil still dragged bottom. The shorter mast was expensive too! Bummed, AB came to my rescue and pulled out his Wizard 150 with an i84 and 61 cm mast and short fuse. Finally able to foil (easily). He strongly suggests rig flip early before feet switch on the jibe. I am sure he is right, but that is not how I normally jibe. I did have a successful one with his advice. Wind fortunately came up, so I just windsurfed with the 5.6 m2 S-1 Pro that I was using foiling. I needed to add a cm of outhaul and move the harness lines back. What an improvement little adjustments make. I was able to practice rig flip first jibes, and they seemed OK. I tried many Donkey Jibes today and could not make one. Strange. The duck jibe part was easy but I had trouble with the sail/body 360 part. The wave sail's longer boom? It definitely turned into a beautiful day. I think that is it for me this year. I would have loved to stay for tomorrow, but trying to be safe.
