The wind has been nice yesterday, today, and looks nice tomorrow....if you can get off work and sail in the afternoon. If you can't get there until after work (aka a RJ approximately 5pm), it is probably not worth it. I did not try yesterday, but the banter on Signal went on all evening about how great it was. So today, game on. I drove home and loaded my car at lunch time. I got to Four Points after work at 5p, and looked at the wind graph. It had been 20, now it was 6mph. I was going to turn around, but since I was almost there, I pressed on. Everyone was leaving and packing up at the point. I decided to check out the boat ramp. Bingo, Damien. This guy is hard core. Dressed for work, like me, he was inflating his wing and quickly putting on his wetsuit. I finally found some motivation to rig up and go out. I got plenty of flights, as the gusts were pretty good. It is starting click for me going downwind and ditching the power of the sail. It was cloudy, so it was hard to judge how much time we had to sail before getting locked out. I bailed a little after 6, since it takes me a while to disassemble my foil ( no Quick Lock ). Worth it? I'm not so sure. I will pass tomorrow, but hoping for windsurfing this weekend.
