The new board arrived today, and it didn't have to wait very long to get from the Fedex truck to the water. The problem with having a new board is that I don't want to try anything, for fear of putting a mark on my shiney new piece of epoxy (or whatever they're made of) and I end up sailing rather conservatively. Well, fortunately, that love affair of material things in perfect condition didn't last long, and I tried a few of the usual suspects. One piece of chop had vulcan written all over it, but the evil vulcan on my left shoulder whispered in my ear to not try it, and the opportunity never arose again. Tried the Beat Tacks (which is basically a very agressive and fast push tack) with a small amount of success. Fell in once while going straight after losing my concentration due to a hot blonde chick on an Ezzy 5.2 smiling at me. Had to schlog in the wind shadow from the boat ramp to the channel since the point is closed due to flooding, but the payoff was worth it. The stock Drake fin probably isn't so great. Gotta not love the Drake. PSB: Real Ale Full Moon Rye Pale Ale
