The causeway was closed, so I rigged at the volleyball area parking lot and carried the kit across. I was well rewarded. It felt just like being at the Gorge, where you sometimes have to schlep your gear to earn your session, depending on where you launch. The 4.7 eventually proved too much, so switched to the 4.0. Tried a back loop for the first time, but I imagine it looked more like a jump gone bad. Landed sort of on the side of my face...not sure if I was still in the straps or not. Funny thing is, I tried it from port side, which I just recently started jumping comfortably. Go figure. Ramps were available on both port and starboard. Thanks to UK Mike for the back loop inspiration. Tried the other usuals on this tiny board of Laura's. No vulcan attempts today. Not too many people out on the water this day. Some may have been spooked by the closed causeway, or maybe they have jobs? PSB: Had to go back to work.
