I saw the trees moving all day. Forecast was crap, but the trees said otherwise. Unfortunately, I told Jill she could have a girls day out...shopping, bead show, whatever. I had the kids today. I worked on the Kombi a little. I went on a long walk with the dog and my 3 year old on his bike. He has figured out how to do handlebar 360's on his own. Video worthy. I quickly shot some, edited it on imovie, and sent to to my brother in Singapore. Jill came back @ 4pm. I got a new sail to replace my 8.0 GTX. This is the sail I used most on Lake Travis last year. I decided to sell it and buy a new 8.5 MS2. I had to modify the cams a little to fit my FS7000 mast, but it sets up sweet now. I got to the lake @5pm. I was told to rig a 7.5. I am glad I didn't. Wind was all over the place. 5-28mph. The sail is great. Eats gusts and translates them into pure drive. I was never overpowered. Wind was dying toward the evening. I was pretty far downwind, so it took a little bit of time to get back. It was a good opportunity to practice tacking. Drove the Kombi. I love that bus. Packs up in seconds. Pure zen to drive. |
