67 The waves were nearly as big as yesterday (or maybe equal) but they seemed closer together and more apt to close out. What a weird day. I broke my first ever universal at the absolute farthest point of my run, but after a brief period of laying there in resignation I discovered that things were still attached and I could water start away. Thank you, Chinook, for those safety straps. Later a huge fish almost got railed on my shins when it jumped over my board. I'd guess a 7-8 pounder...ok not huge by gulf standards but huge compared to what usually jumps around me in the laguna. And then I was sore from yesterday, grabbing things very gingerly due to painful shoulder and therefore blowing many of my tacks, jibes, and even some wave rides. Neck stiff too and overall it was not a fun experience...may have to go on the DL b/c it's really frustrating and no fun to sail hurt.
