Tried a wymaroo, but the board never left the water and I got catapulted. Hey, at least I didn't chicken out on the rig action! Tried close to 10 back loops, on both tacks. I never let go, which is promising. A few had enough rotation to land nose first, while others probably looked more like a botched jump. A couple of times, the clew would stick into the water and stop the rotation, which was unexpected. Jump jibes were nice on the inside where the swell was relatively clean. Here's Laura schooling us on how the jump jibe is performed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlF2liEjGFo On that same inside swell, I tried a shove it. While airborne, I noticed that the board had rotated 180 degrees underneath me, leading me to the conclusion that I was no longer in the straps. I guess the sail was actually beneath me (as it should be in a proper shove it) while I was airborne, since I was looking through the sail at the nose of the board underneath me (where the tail of the board might normally be) and the water was in the background. Once I saw the misplaced tail I thought to myself that this probably isn't going to turn out very good...but everything turned out fine. No worries. PSB: Dog Fish Head 60 Minute IPA
