28 Today was my "funnest day ever" so far this year. When I got home I heard that the blue angel plane crashed, and that kind of put a damper on things--just last weekend they were flying over us at poenisch :(. Anyway, I worked a lot on JJs and made progress but was not combining the pop and rotation as I was even when I was learning last year. Also tried 3 backs, my first time ever in the bay, and inspired by Brian's try in front of me. The first two were the only recognizable attempts and I was only rotating 180 or so. I know what to do better next time. Ramps weren't even that good for it either. Tried some flakas but that was a joke...basically me jumping into the wind and getting stuffed. Someday... One thing I have noticed is that I've gained weight this year after having weighed the same for years (8 lbs since January, I confirmed at work friday)...and yeah it's muscle b/c it's happened since I began triathlon training, but it's shifting my center of gravity a bit and making my boards sink noticeably more. My little board has turned into a sinker and on my big board I now completely sink either the nose or tail if I stand entirely on it. I find myself missing things like water starts, SB3s, etc due to sinking parts of the board that used to float. And I am slower to plane. So I will have to either get a bigger big board or just get more balanced on this sinky one.
