Sailed at Girl Island, TX
Wind from the SE (mph)
        Average: 15
Rated a 9 of 10

Board: Starboard Go 200L, Starboard Trance 94l
Sail: '07 Ezzy Wave 5.5

Rigged the 5.2 when the rain stopped...and the car started making a howling noise in the wind...and after maybe 5 minutes (about all I could take with the beckoning wind) of reading Petzold's Book Zero. Turns out I shouldn't have rigged at all because I tried out Worldwinds's 5.5 instead. Took the Go for a go. Joyfully, was still able to do duck tacks on the 5.5, the largest size attempted thus far. The evil plan is to slowly work my way up to doing duck tacks on 12.5s. (insert evil laugh sound here.) Performed a deep analysis of why I can't do UW3s from starboard. Conclusion is that you're not just right handed, you're also right footed. And your left foot cannot live up to the standard set by the right foot. That is unless you lather, rinse, repeat, lather, rinse, repeat, lather, rinse, repeat, etc. Using the extra big board really exagerates the importance of foot skills and weight distribution, which turns out to be a nifty learning tool. Plus, I get to feel invincible on the board that's bigger than a very large burrito, and nothing beats that. After figuring it all out, did 30+ starboard out of the straps uw3s. But they're still not right. Need to work on them some more. The left foot becomes debilitated at the end of the move and needs too much help. Tried the Trance for a bit when it seemed like it wanted to be sunny and windy, but it didn't work out. Learned from A that I already knew how to do the jon bon jovi. Wait, that doesn't sound right. was it the howdy dowdy? Doh! I can't remember. Bought the '07 5.5. PSB: Full Sail Session, Rogue Chocolate Stout PSG: B&Js w/A,BS,M,R plus 2 or 3 other triathlete types
