It was reeeaallly fun to have the imported talent in town schooling me on how I should be sailing Lake Travis. I stunk at shove-its...but Alissa was busting some big aired attempts at them and then modestly denying their bigness. I was being chicken on forwards...but Mike was chuckin his attempts (some of them looked pretty dang completed to me) all over the place on port tack. Back loop ramps weren't present like they were last week, and I was starting to think I wouldn't get a loop fix. But late in the session, a rare nice steep ramp on starboard was begging me to BL it, so I did. Then a little later, the numbness and/or tiredness kicked in enough for me to relax sufficiently to trigger a forward attempt. Mike saw it and said the initiation was perfect, but I looked down instead of back. Apparently this looking back thing is my next hurdle. He also says I landed on my face, but I honestly have no recollection of that. Maybe it's the hood? Interesting how during the same conditions, Mike prefers trying forwards on port with the ramp coming from windward and a bumpy setup, while I prefer the starboard, over the back of the wave, smooth setup approach. Best birthday blow ever! PSB: NXNW PJ Pale Ale PSG: Steaks on the grill w/A,B,B,E,J,M,M
