5 Conditions made this not a day for tricks or killer wave rides but simply for a fix, which still left me completely satisfied. These were the biggest waves I've sailed in probably at least a year, which actually says more about the lack of waves last year than the size today. Long hovering jumps were the norm. Choppy wave faces, no clear sets, strong current, and numerous man-o-war. I'm not making it sound very fun, but just being in the midst of that kind of power in side shore conditions feels exhilarating. The air and water felt not the least bit cold (hint hint TAMAY) and I didn't wear my cold weather gear, although later on precipitation began in a form that Forrest Gump would refer to as "big ol' fat rain." Sand still very soft so I parked in the driveway. Now that's what I call a power lunch :)
