The short version... T.B.C. The long... Awoke still dealing with flu symptoms. Had a fight with my wife regarding my "necessity" to windsurf. Bought a disappointingly expensive and weak cup of coffee. Decided to go sail west since I needed to be home by 3:30p for my daughter's "portfolio" presentation at school. I hoped the wind would fill in sooner and be stronger before I had to leave the park. Sat and vegetated in heat while 50 yo couple broadcasted their country music and groped. No place to hide. Constantly looked at the horizon and watched for wind to come up before I had to leave. Finally at 1:55p, I gave up. I took off my fin and then, as I looked up the wind arrived (right at 2pm). 20-30mph with full on white caps...instantly. My rigged sail and board was way too big, and it was time to go. Two other sailors from Austin arrived earlier @ 1pm. One thanked me for the "rig sacrifice" as I packed up. iPod randomly plays Lloyd Cole's "Unhappy Song" on drive back to Austin. Not a good day. At least I know where to launch, if I ever get the itch to sail here again. :(
