I did something that I never do, and that's rig for the future potential forecast wind instead of rigging for the current wind. Whoops! Rigged the 5.5 later, but it's not really a freestyle sail is it what with all the pocket and draft and whatnot. Must remind myself to only use that sail at NoPac when my buds and my wife make me go there and sail in the onshore slop. :) Mostly wasn't powered enough for vulcans, so the attempts were lame, but did manage one where I slid backwards for a moment or two, which is a first. But, the handwork crossover was non-existent. Learned from watching Mr Warwick to start trying one-handed whatever those things are where you start a duck tack but then jibe instead. Tried a gecko or two on this board, and it seems much easier since the board is shorter/wider, but I don't want to repeat the footstrap tearing out a chunk of the board trick on this board. PSDMPGS: Averaged 73 mpg from the island to SPID to I37 by setting the cruise to 55 mph. 58 mpg average for the entire trip back to Austin.
