34 Could not plane even on my big gear (which doesn't bode well for my hopes of sailing slalom), but this fin points like nobody's business so I went exploring instead. Did a downwinder to the marina, having fun surfing some swell. I cruised a couple laps near the water taxi stop at Landry's, then headed back to beat sunset. On the way the biggest turtle I've ever seen in the wild popped up in front of me, just outside the jetty but pretty close to it. It looked like something you'd see at an aquarium. Its shell looked about 2 feet long. It's so cool to know that things like that are alive anywhere, much less in CC bay enjoying the water right next to me! It was very shy, though, and bolted when it saw me. I wonder if it was feasting on all the jellyfish that seem to have appeared overnight in the bay.
