Sailed at Austin,TX
Rated a 10 of 10

Board: Happy
Sail: New Year

Every New Years Day I look back on the year and my stats. I used to do my own poor analysis, but thanks to Hans, he has updated the windlog format, so one can look at their stats any time you want.

The biggest one this year is that my days sailing went up from 37 to 56. That is a big jump. Up 19 days!

This year planing exits on gybes became a reality. Shortboard tacks are getting much better thanks to LWF. I finally sailed oceanside again. I had a custom board made for 40% of the conditions I sail in, and so I can try some basic freestyle. My friends keep pushing the bar higher and I am just trying to hang on. My long term goal is to be one of the biggest guys to pull off a Vulcan. Yes, Antoine or Bjorn may be able to do it, but I have half a foot of height and 30 pounds on them. I realize that this may be physically impossible, but I am going to give it a try.

My son is now ten, and much bigger and stronger. I think this will be the year. He has expressed some interest. I think I need to take him to BIB. If it does not happen, that's OK.

I only sailed my own FSW 110 a few times this year, but mostly in January. So it looks like I am due...

I wish peace, health, windy days for everyone in 2008.
