Made it back for Sunday Slalom. It was a fun day because there were some really good freestylers, plus i got to meet Josh from windsurfing, and we'd emailed/called sometimes in the past but never actually met. He was taking lots of pictures, a photo shoot of sorts. My favorite was when they set the photo scaffolding up as our jibe marker. It felt like demo-derby at times, and contact was definitely made with other gear and with the platform. I like that kind of sailing--it's exciting. Once I got totally taken out by this guy's mast! haha. I totally didn't care, either. My gear was not set up for racing, and the start was unfortunately located in this perpetual lull, so i was often schlogging while others planed by. But I did my best and had a great time at the occasional congested mark roundings (mostly the ones where i was getting lapped by the big boys). I also had fun sailing head-to-head with the others on everyday gear like mine. We had about 15 racers, including about 4 females. Got to work on some freestyle afterward. Totally worthwhile session.
