Venue 2 of 2:

Had to go try the bay on for size again after a long absence to see how it matches my current interests. It turns out it matches better than Mike and I had both anticipated. Port Vs are much easier here than at Bird, since the wider spaced and bigger chop actually makes for "flatter" water. It's all about the wider spacing. It works for Vs on the inside, but I don't know that it'll work for S's.

For those inclined to be favored for starboard flaka attempts (not me) I think this venue could be well suited to learning those. It might also work on port while coming over the back of chop, but I was not wiling to try it in the shallow water. The port  V's occured on the inside very naturally both between the chop and off the back. I also once remembered to try Andy B's suggeston of keeping a firm, close front hand, which seemed to work nicely and allowed for nearly automatic hand movement.

I asked A to coach me on shove-its, another move I think this venue is well suited for. She got me to change them a bit, and she also posed the extremely relevant question of how on earth can I be falling off the back of the board during a shoveit attempt? Answer: fear of commitment and momentum issues.
