Day 2 of the Wyatt Miller Wave and Freestyle Clinic

Bottom turn lecture.

Pre lunch session: 5 mph with just me and Berndt windsurfing, and Tyson surfing, and Norman SUPping. Caught a few nice ones. Dude, I was trunkin' it.

Afternoon session:

22 out of 10.

The plan was for Wyatt and Tyson to scout out the waves for us by being on the same wave and then them telling us when to go down the line. I tried my first goiter attempt (well, I guess a ponch really since goiter rules state that you must land in front of the wave) in front of Wyatt. We had an immediate in-the-water chat about the attempt, and he described my rig throw as kind of "too mellow". 6 ponch attempts in all for the day, with the later ones not as mellow as the initial ones. He says my rig throw is too horizontal and that I need to throw the rig down more so that the tip of the mast hits the water.

Tried a switch kono on the outside.

On one wave, Wyatt told me to race waaayyy down the line to The Point, which turned out to be the right call since we were in a mellow part of the wave. That was miraculous, because I never would have thought to do that.

Big waves. This was an amazingly, amazingly, amazingly, amazingly, amazingly, amazingly fun day. But I should have been on smaller gear.
