Day 4 of the Clinic

Forward loop lecture. Impromptu shove-it discussion.

Started on a 4.5, which wasn't enough. For the 2nd session, switched to a 5.5, which was monstrously heavy, probably partly because of the pounding on the rocks my body received earlier in the day when trying to exit the water with a monstrous SUP at nearly high tide. Never really got dialed in today, and didn't attempt any goiters. Was considering calling it a day, but decided to try to salvage it with a 4.7 for the third session. Salvage it I did, because in front of the happy hour crowd, I got my first actual goiter attempt where my rig was down and my feet were up and everything rotated right around! bwahhhhhhhhh!!!!! Wyatt said it was completely legit. I have been given the nickname of "goiter boy" by KT. Walking my gear up the hill post-session greeted me with a rousing cheer from the crowd at the bar. To top it all off, Laura got it on video.

Also, on the semantics front, Wyatt said that anything involving the wave is a goiter attempt, no matter if you land in front or behind the wave, while flat water equals ponch.

Medium sized waves. Bigger than most days of the trip in May.

26 out of 10.
