043 - Just about as forecast and with the easterly component decided to go solo and check out a new place at the NAS.  Arrived and it looked almost 4.7 along with a passing shower cloud, took close to an hour to find the most reasonable launch along the rocky shoreline with a 6-8' bulkhead complete with seaplane ramps.  The best launch spot was right at the marina beside the jetty with the pier.  Had to slogh up to the north end to tack and clear the pier but then it was planing BAF in line with the IWC bridge and back to the north corner.  Worked upwind until the shallows got too close together then established a jibe zone in knee deep sandy bottom near a large spoil outside  Slight chop just about everywhere except a tiny swell bit also fairly smooth in spots between the pier and north end. It was a little light here and there but generally filled in with very few holes.  At first made quite a few stops for depth checks and it seems that launching at the north end would be best, just have to park near the off limits (?) and walk a little to the water.  Packery Channel water level was 2.93'.
