115 -  Fresh cold front with a little wind chili and nobody sailing.  No whitecaps in sight at first, rigged 5.8 then solid whitecaps.  Out and back to the Mudflats totally overpowered.  Rigged way down then BAF to the Mudflats working upwind to the north end was great.  Mostly full powered planing and no holes.  Lots of cross chop and a few weed lines.  Sailed solo almost entirely, took a break as it started dropping and gave it up with someone on a 5.6 was only working 50%.  Two bird encounters both at full planing made it unusual.  Never saw the first coming, suddenly hit in thigh and the little birdie hit the foot of the sail the deck then into the water, got a glimpse of it and it appeared OK.  Now that's flippin' the bird.  Second was a timing issue with a Brown Pelican.  Directly approaching pelican that was focused and about to dive into the water.  We both held course then it hit the water upwind about 25' away and it didn't even rush to take off.
