ABK Day Four
Brendon's Flaka lecture in am. Very good. Tried some. Mine are called S-turns. No taka. No air.
Afternoon was Andy's brief Willy Skipper lecture. Not sure I want to put my foot through the nose of my board yet. I did give it a good mast thwacking dent on day 2.
Wind started to back down once we got out on the water for the afternoon. Bendon's secret Jackie Chan advice was spot on, but only got one powered attempt with it. Rigged up to 5.9 for the final hour so I could get in a couple more.
Andy said my hooked in crashed vulcan attempts are my best he has seen from me so far. That is defeating.
Finally got two attempts on video to analyze. My body is out rotating my board. Got to get the nose to hit the water sooner. Need to "pop" the clew, and not push it away.
Bottom line. Not much learned other than I am very far away from landing a vulcan. Jellyfish suck. They were very bad again. I do not like wearing my wetsuit in warm weather. Not sure I would have like to wear the kookie spandex everyone else was sporting either. I was not man enough to just wear boardshorts, that is for sure.
The one cool thing about the last 4 days was that I used every piece of equipment that I brought (minus my wave board...could have sailed it). 4 sails, 2 masts, 2 booms, 1 board. We really could not have asked for better wind for the clinic.
