85th session in 2011
Sailed at Hatchery, WA
Wind from the W (mph)
Board: '09 RRD WaveTwin 82
Sail: '09 NP Firefly 4.5, '10 Naish Session 3.7
Very, very, very super fun day! 4.5 for the first session, then 3.7 once it picked up. Some fake forward attempts with both sails. The 3.7 fake attempts were egged on by my realtor, who is no doubt a madman on the water. He told me you can wait forever for the perfect conditions, the perfect ramp, the perfect kit, or you can just try it right now regardless of any of that.
Gobs of completed 1HS5s. Tried 2 clew first spocks, with embarassingly miserable results. Gobs of fake switch kono attempts via 360s on the swell, with 2 of them getting the board out of the water but no rotation once airborne. A handful of grubby attempts, eventually deteriorating into those sort of attempts that make you want to stop trying them. Finished off the day water starting out of a gecko flaka completion. I think the current makes those easier to do because it corrects whatever I'm doing wrong. Nice. 1 or 2 backie attempts.
Nice swell today too.
