Today was disappointing on several levels. I had been so excited about a gulf day, but the actual wind was a major donwgrade of the forecast. The gulf was straight onshore and way too light, so I went to CP and struggled some more to get dialed in to this new Fanatic freewave board. I'm beginning to worry that getting it was a mistake. My old JP got a decent crack, but it's spent all summer drying out and maybe I should just repair it and ride something I can handle better. Philip did great on this board, but I'm not Philip, neither in size nor style. I was sailing thinking about how much I'd rather be sailing with Philip rather than on his board. It's sad to lose part of the core group. I sailed til I got brackish water in my mouth on one of my falls, then started thinking too hard about the rain we had this morning and I decided I'd be better off mowing my lawn. I majorly need a reset. Tomorrow?
