It didn't look so great when we first pulled up, but it turned into a nice Port A day. The waves built to about waist high and wind was plenty for me, although I had more power than anyone else given my supercharged 5.7 and 85L setup. I was having fun sailing in the best waves closer and closer to the pier, and in the end almost paid for it when I went down realllly close to the pilings in dying wind. I'm still not used to the footstrap placement on this board, and I caught my toe on the jibe and fell. I was able to water start out in time.

I'm still not sure about this new board. It rides nice and smooth, and after some practice I was able to get it bottom turning, but I'm concerned it's too big for me. It responds slowly and is hard to jump. Mike says I should try a smaller fin, like 20 or 21 cm, before getting rid of the board. I don't have powerbox fins anymore though so I'll have to look for one.
