I drove to packery knowing a few things--it was really windy in town and would likely be less at the beach, it was looking pretty onshore, and wave sailing hasn't been good lately. Despite all those things, for the possibility of waves I took my chances. I thought the exceptionally strong wind would let me override the problems. I was solo but managed to rig perfectly for the conditions when I arrived. Unfortunatly conditions kept downgrading. Came in for my bigger board. That worked for a bit but still the wind dropped. I did two more long schlogging runs just because I was so loving being in the waves. Not too crowded out there today. I saw one little man-o-war floating, scattered seaweed, and a few kiters, and just a handful of surfers. I'd been alternately busy or sick for the past couple weeks of wind so it was really good to get out and enjoy it again. I'll be keeping an eye on that cold front Thursday.
