12th session in 2013
Sailed at Port Aransas, TX
Wind from the N (mph)
        Average: 25
Rated a 8 of 10

Board: JP radical wave 65L
Sail: 5.2 Worldsail Surge '12
Suit: shorty

Today was challenging, and looking at the stats it all makes sense now. Two N wind readings in a row (plus some carnage at Poenisch) lured me out there. I knew it had clocked NW  because it turned pretty offshore, but I had not realized to what degree. Also I see that I rigged during a brief 5pm lull of 20 mph. I ended up on my 5.2 in 25 gusting to low 30s. Had wanted to rig 4.7 but that sail is still in critical condition and probably won't make it. It didn't LOOK windy, anyway, but the flatness fools you. Still, I would not have missed this. I have a feeling it will be the last port a sesh of the year, so I enjoyed every second of the knee high wave riding and the oddity of wearing neoprene in May here. I don't remember ever going so fast anywhere--that was fun too.
