Reliable tradewinds come through again. Forecast for the week was a skunk. Not so fast my friend, this is Maui. Actually, despite no wind in forecast from iW, Windty, and WindGuru, the one forecast that has nailed it is USair.net. Conditions have been rolling swell and white caps in the afternoon peaking @ 2pm then fading. I have been sailing out of Sugar Cove and then sailing downwind to Sprecks. I went out @ 12:30 with the 5.3 Manic HD and freestyle fin, but it was too twitchy. I got going in the gusts, but it was too much work. So, I re-rigged back to the 6.2 Poison and put the wave fin back in. There a nice spot for port tack freestyle on the windward side of Spreckelsville Beach. The reefs freak me out since it is shallow and the water is so clear. If I am the only one sailing there I am worried I will hit the rocks with my fin. I talked to Matt Pritchard yesterday, and he said you wont hit your fin sailing over it, but you can landing a jump. He said he smashed a nose of his board landing a back loop there.

I guess I have no reason to worry then ;)
