Magical day! Based on the 9:20 a.m. wind update I asked for some vacation time and got in an epic pre-lunch session. It felt like you could go down the line forever. The outside and inside wave were linking really well, so things felt seamless. Doug and Michael got out for their first ever Port Aransas wave days, despite that it was not a beginner friendly day. Very impressive that they made it through and handled the shore break! Barry shredded as usual. The wind went from a bit light when I started (reading 23 but with inside holes) to a very filled in 26, gusting to 31 by the time I finished. It got challenging on the 5.2, but I wasn't about to take time to rerig. I sailed hard for an hour and a half and still felt full of energy but had to go back to work. I struggled a bit with my sprained right ankle, which isn't badly sprained by any means, but I had re-aggravated it yesterday and it was giving me this electric shock at times when I was applying pressure to the board. I had some sloppy moments of control due to that. But I don't even care. I couldn't ask for a better day. Bonus having company. And it's still blowing! I'm half tempted to drive out again for the evening shift!! Wheeeee!!
