I went down knowing it was my only chance for planing wind until after the upcoming holiday weekend. I also knew there would be barely planing wind. I have definitely proven that the nicest gear in the world can't make up for my body weight (and poor technique). It is no secret you don't see more big guys in this sport, and in many ways, I hate a 10-20mph forecast. You have to watch others plane while you pump and slog. I did get into the straps a few times (but I paid for it by losing ground downwind... it was worth it). I was invited over for a post-session potluck with a really nice group of people. This made for a wonderful way to end the day and made my drive home an easy one. Thank you to everyone that fed me.
