Awesome day!! I almost went to Canyon Lake, but decided after looking at the Oasis webcam that I could launch from the boat ramp despite the point being closed due to high lake levels. When I pulled up to the guard shack I saw Rob and Josh's vehicles parked at the volleyball sand pit, but I did not see them on the water. After quickly rigging up, I decided to go out on my 5.0m2 S1. It was 30-40 mph, no lie! I did not even try to go out past the point as I was so overpowered and quickly became exhausted from the gusty conditions after just a few runs. I brought my 4.7m2, but I decided to put one cm more downhaul on first. Wow, what a difference!! Some gusts were amazing and long. Spray was coming off the whitecaps at times and I was doing everything I could to just keep going forward and not crashing. All ramps today lined up for port tack, so I did not have any good jumps today. I also never felt comfortable enough to try vulcans today, but I did a lot of C360s in the straps really cranked hard.
