This much wind wasn't forecast, but I prepped for a dawn patrol session anyway, and I woke up to enough wind and made the drive. I sailed for an hour with Gordon. The waves themselves were not super special - kinda mushy, disorganized - but the first north wave day of the season is always a big deal. Perfectly warm and comfortable water and air without being hot. Nice big banked outside turns. I made this crazy inside tack where my upper back hit the water but I kept hanging on, kept my feet on the board, and it worked out, so that was fun. The previous two days were both surf days thanks to hurricane michael, with Tuesday being the best surf session I've ever had (I learned to surf a while in one direction and then turn to the other direction). The first real cold front is forecast to come in a few more days. So after a slow start, we are having a pretty great mid-October.
