Almost carbon copy of yesterday but a little stiffer chop, and this time I was rigged right. Brian's question got me thinking more about sails. I love Ezzys. They have been the most consistent, solid, well-made and dependable wave sail I've ridden since I started sailing. I owned a few secondhand ones early on, and I got to rent the then-latest models when visiting punta San Carlos. I almost could not have a better opinion of a sail. Yet I have come to appreciate that the S2 dragons are my favorite sail I've ridden. It took me a while to get used to riding and tuning them. I even hurt both my wrists the first day. But now that I have gotten tuned in, they ride with this airy lightness. They have more power then any other sail I've ridden, yet they also depower so smoothly that on days like yesterday, when I was riding a full meter too big, I kept questioning whether I was even overpowered because I felt so steady and controlled. I only got my Dragons because the right deal came around just when my old sails were cratering. I had pretty moderate expectations and was going to use these for a until I figured out what I really wanted to aspire to. I fell in love along the way.
