I realized my duck jibes are not all that. This came to light as I decided to start trying switch stance duck jibes. Going switch stance while planing and continuing to plane started to sort of happen for me albeit a bit scary and some big bails with swimming for kit involved. But then I also had been told by Roxanne that I had to catch the other side of the boom after ducking really close to the mast which involves a good throw on release. That was when I realized I don't really throw on my regular duck jibes. So, I practiced that and it's really quite fun. I often go duck while riding swell and I am interested in finding out if I throw then?? There wasn't any big swell this session. Maybe tomorrow... Oh wow, as I was reviewing my post I realized I often jibe without switching my feet. I could just do that and then try the duck...although then I would still be in the straps which adds another level of intinsity. Windsurfing is so fun! |
