Wave sailing is coming together for me more and more. I've realized I had a long "off" period due mainly to lack of strength. I had surgery in 2016, then some random injuries, then a whole year off for pregnancy/recovery, then a couple years of infrequent sailing due to juggling scheduling with working and the babies - all that added up to completely losing my fitness and not effectively regaining it. Balance came right back, but strength took consistent practice that I wasn't able to dedicate until 8 months ago. I'm now able to sail unhooked much more in the waves. I have the arm strength to get my hand way back on the boom, the core strength to steer with my body, and it's leading to much better cutbacks. I feel like I went to the wave clinic even though it never happened. Yet I still have lots of room to improve, so hopefully they can reschedule the actual clinic for next year.
