29th session in 2021
Sailed at Swantner Park, TX
Wind from the SE (mph)
        Average: 18
Rated a 7 of 10

Board: JP Gordini 95L
Sail: 5.3 Naish Wing Surfer
Suit: rash guard and pants

Today was a game changer - I went from pulling out of the driveway to rigging and walking deep enough to launch the foil in 10 minutes. There is a following swell on the way in, and I started feeling how you can let off power in the wing and swell ride a little. It was just a little too light to windsurf, so this filled that gap quickly and accessibly. There was a big wind shadow coming in to the beach, which made the landing tricky, but after the first failure I took a second run out and back and I think I figured out the trick. I think this park will become part of my regular rotation.

I also learned what happens when I let the foil come out of the wave. I did a hard belly flop from altitude off the front of the board. That hurt!
