Mike C's WindLog for Monday March 07, 2022

12th session in 2022
Sailed at Packery
Wind from the N (mph)
        Average: 27
Rated a 8 of 10

Board: Goya Quad 84
Sail: 4.0 Riot
Suit: Full summer

Started at Packery and then also hit up Port A. Packery was tough, the wind was allover.

So I have this idea that some sails are better than others for doing forwards. Admittedly not my idea... so my plan was to take two different sails out in the same size and do some forwards and then compare. I was going to do 3 loops on each sail and film them and then decide which sail was ''best' based on the video footage. Unfortunately the wind kinda died and I was getting worked a lot and also no one was filming LOL. so I will have to try again some other time. I do believe that the Riot is better than the S1 Pro though. It has a Dacron panel near the mast that fills out and gives the sail a lot of forward drive, perfect for forwards. But I love my S1 Pros, you just have to have better technique to do good forwards. Should I pick my sails based on their ability to do forwards??

Finished up at Port A on 4.8 which was way too big. Did a couple of GuScrew. Psyche!
