I almost packed up after dropping off my board at the water's edge. My back was telling me not to do it. But I had to. Brian S. walked by, and I asked him for a tip on foot switching. He told me he learned a great tip from this young kiter who I have seen out on the water before. Then, she walked by Brian and he asked her to tell me the tip. When I first tried it, I thought there is no way this is going to work. It was almost exactly the opposite of all the advice I had seen online. It worked. Then it worked again. And again, and again, and again. Every time I thought I was going to touch down and crash, and every time it worked. What a way to end the season. Usually these verbal pearls take time to sink in and work for me. I think this is the first time it worked right away. I made it through the session without my back locking down too. I am so grateful for that as well. Ice and ibuprofen. Happy New Year!
