This day was an 11. Port jumps = bueno! Was making all my overpowered ducks. Tried my first shove-it from port tack, with nearly the same results as my most truly committed starboard attempt a few months ago. My feet explode out of the straps, and I'm flying through the air horizontally, face down, again nearly knocking the breath out of me on landing. Very fun. Gotta learn to shove my feet in the straps a bit more. Accidentally almost completed a willy skipper (never tried one before) when my feet came out of the straps when I was pretending to do an off the lip on an outside swell. It was actually quite easy, but caught me by surprise so I wasn't ready for the landing. Hopefully it will be as easy when I'm actually trying it. Tried about 8 vulcans, since conditions were ripe on the inside coming over the tops of little waves on starboard tack. Didn't make any, but I think I'm getting a better awareness of what's going wrong. Video would help. At least Darryl and Kirk recognized what I was trying to do as opposed to Laura's take -- saying that I'm just falling off the board. Laura needs corrective vision surgery. When I thought I was done for the day, Laura was still out, quite a ways upwind, milking every last drop out of the last day here. I decided to join her, and we had a blast ripping it up together. Had to match her duck jibe once while following her, and luckily I didn't blow it. A very memorable, beyond perfect day. PSD: Leftover Tangarita from Del Norte the night before, then real Margaritas courtesy of Captain Kirk. PSG: A wonderful Christmas turkey dinner courtesy of Captain Kirk, Kitty, and their guests.
