It is little known that Colonel William Prescott, stopping for a quick session at Port A on his way to Bunker Hill, once said "Don't jibe until you smell the smoke of their butts." If I waited for the upwind anglers' second hand nicotine gusts to hit me on the outside near the jetty, the water was as flat as the lightest wind days at Bird, allowing for smooth, easy jibes on the outside. Returning to the inside found easy, ridable waves, but only if I timed it just right. Learned a thing or two about timing it just right. Got the longest lasting rides of my very short wave-riding career...tying together multiple turns on the bottom and the top of the small waves. Got lucky 2 or 3 times early on and was fully powered on the inside heading out into clean, steep 3 foot ramps. Didn't even notice it was port tack jumping, my former bad side, which is good.
