We got a later start as we had to organize the gear, and put footstraps on. I am happy to say, our gear survived the airports well without damage (or excessive charges). Traveling with gear is a bit of a PIA. You really need to pack light. Thankfully Mike had it down, and was there to help me out. It is so nice to have your own gear. After we crossed the bridge and headed east, the view was amazing. Tons of whitecaps and windsurfing sails zipping across the river. Really beautiful, really crowded. Parking at the Hatchery was full already. We had to park north and carry our gear across the highway. I should have brought the shoulder strap for my board bag. It was tough on the arms. The high level guys were on 4.7m2. It felt windier than iwindsurf was saying, so I chickened out and rigged a 5.2m2. Unfortunately, I struggled to get planing. Still it was so nice to be on the river. The water felt really good. It was a hot day! Later, as the wind started to slow, we brought the car back to the loading area, and I changed out my rig for the 6.3m2. I was planing better, even though it was lighter wind. It is so nice to be here. Brian, Laura, and Mike are way cool, views are incredible, and I am starting to relax into vacation mode.
