21 Today was challenging--went out on a 4.2 with a stiff neck and almost got blown off the water. Plus every little bounce hurt, and there were plenty. After a break by the heater rerigged to 3.7 and was still overpowered but more manageably so. By then the Advil had kicked in and I felt better. Sailed until my muscles were burning and shaking too much for another run. The most interesting thing I did was a couple sloppy DJs, but I love days like today because it feels like conquoring the conditions. My parents would have flipped out about taking our boat out on a day like today, and even in youth sailing they probably would not have let us out (or if they did there would have been carnage). It's amazing we can be out there so nonchalantly in pelting rain, big swells, small craft warning, and not even a life jacket--and having fun. What an awesome sport. Who's ready for more tomorrow?
