I had fun today. It was a beautiful day, and I had the lake almost all to myself. I sailed my SUP today. The 7.5m2 is perfect for it. I sailed with and without the centerfin option. In light air, there is not that big of difference in performance, but rail pressure needed is the exact opposite. I am sure I stayed upwind a little better with the center fin, but it is less intuitive to a shortboarder. It has been a long time since I sailed a board with a center fin (centerboard). It is very low performance, but is fun/cool. Kind of like driving my VW Bus. You just want to cruise. I enjoyed the light wind freestyle much more than on a wide beginner board (because it is narrower, and makes you keep your feet on the centerline). I hope Sunday's forecast comes through. I would like some real wind, although I have a little gap in my quiver right now.
