Forecast was for more wind than yesterday, but that didn't really pan out. It was more of a classic winter up and down squally kind of day. Head to logo high swell (well, only if your logo is pasted one panel lower than normal) at Lowers, and Uppers looked truly logo to mast high from the distance when you looked at the few peeps sailing there and then maybe tried crushing their heads. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Tyzik First and second session was rash guard and shorts, but after nappy time in the minivan rented from BG Al, it just felt right to introduce the Exo fleece for session three. mmmmmm...toasty. In between the first -n- second session E and I wrote our names in the sand with little hearts to dot the I's. My name on this particular day was Fartie. We'll see if this one sticks. Today was the classic Hawaiian shlog out, ride big waves in day that you eventually, given enough time, come to realize is the classic Hawaiian day. Every now and then you'd be powered on the way out through the break, but no so often. This, combined with the big waves, made it outside my comfort zone for trying forwards. Managed to try one crappy BL though. This day was all about down the line wave riding. Yesterday was the day for trying stuff, but hindsight is 20-15. Observed that some people get off the wave that you're on (or that E is on, or that anyone is on) when they're supposed to, while others don't. I'm fairly confident I could accurately stereotype the ones that don't, but more data points are necessary. PSB: Kona Pipeline Porter @ PSG: Flatbread Pizza Paia w/E
