24 Rigged 3 sails--very unlike me but it kept increasing, I broke the 4.2, and I was anxious to try my new 3.7, so the frenzy of activity felt right at the time. I LOVE the sail. I can't say that worldsails should get all the credit--any upgrade from a 1998 sail to a 2008 is bound to yield profound results--but it felt perfect. Airily light yet tough and responsive. They've made some good changes even since the 04/05 models with the top cap repositioned and the general construction feeling tougher. Only complaint so far is that the pulley mechanism was difficult to feed. I'm hoping that will improve as it is broken in. Today was sort of a test run for the sail, and now that I like it my 3.2 and 4.2 (both currently old and on the DL with major rips) are candidates for replacement. As for OTW--I spent much of the time getting my behind handed to me, due to a combo of overpowered-ness, extreme fatigue from the week's events, and of course the skill level factor which always has room for improvement. My arms were protesting from the very first run. I did have breakthroughs on both the outside jibe and the BL though. I'm too tired to type about it and no one wants to read about the intricacies of this anyway, but I've seen the light on both of these maneuvers. I needed it, became clear today that my BL technique was more likely to kill or maim me than yield a completed maneuver. Now I just need a day where I start fresh and sail with abandon and I think I'll make real progress.
