Time was short...had a meeting but I've got a streak going, the chop beckoned, and (actually I think Ishmael can explain it better than I) "whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off--then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can."

No sign of 30 foot leviathans in the bay today (unlike at Mustang Island), but there was a sort of homeless swimming outing going on. I don't blame them. If I were homeless I would spend lots of time swimming as well. I rigged too big...began the day on the same size sail as the guys (my rigging mistake) and the wind kept picking up and up, so that by the end of the sesh I was more juiced than the 2001 Yankees. It's great having the shove-it in the 'ol repotoire of tricks to learn, though, because you have to be pretty lit up to try those. Was actually making lots of DJs! Another first today: the one-footed jump. Also tried some one-hand one-foot jumps but for such brief moments that I'm not ready to claim that yet.

We figured out Randy's perfect job today: graphics consultant for windsurfing board manufacturer.
